Background of Our Order

The Celtic Pagan and Druidic Order of Constantine has a rich and interesting history since its inception.

Constantine the Great, The Last Pagan Emporer of Rome...

Constantine the Great, The Last Pagan Emporer of Rome...

Constantine the Great, The Last Pagan Emporer of Rome, presided over what is known to be "Temple Paganism." Constantine, his Pagan Protectorate Knights, Soldiers and his Priestesses were the base founders of the Order and at in that time, The Order was simply known as: The Pagan Knights of Constantine.

Now, in the academic community historians argued for years whether Constantine converted to Christianity in 312 of the Common Era after his victory over Maxentius or if Constantine converted to Christianity on his deathbed?

The truth of the matter is neither had occurred. Constantine NEVER "truly" converted to Christianity at all.

Battle of the Milvian Bridge, 28 October 312 of the Common Era...

In 312CE (AD), after Constantine's victory at the Battle of the Milvian Bridge against the troops of Marcus Aurelius Valerius Maxentius, in a war to end tetrarchy which is the sharing of thrones and power; Constantine returned to Rome. Upon his return Constantine found that his Roman Empire had been tearing itself apart by the newly, yet more organised Christians & the disorganised Graeco-Roman Polytheistic Pagan Factions and Tribes.  The two parties were warring against each other over religious supremacy in Rome.

So in an effort to preserve his throne and to bring peace and prosperity to the Roman Empire, Constantine publicly claimed his conversion to Christianity. He did this to unify Rome under a single banner and new religion - Christianity.

He did this as an action of being a "good statesman."

The truth of the matter is that Constantine was basically blackmailed by his own advisors and scribes into converting. On the eve of the Battle of the Milvian Bridge, 28 of October 312 CE, Constantine was shown a Fiery Cross in the sky. Constantine saw this as an Omen to his impending victory.

His advisors and scribes had another take on what they saw and later into the night after feasting and drinking in camp, Constantine's advisors sought to fool him into believing that the fiery cross in the sky was in actuality the cross of Christ. They told him that it was a message from the One True God that Constantine would prevail in battle over Maxentius.

Constantine was not easily fooled nor was he easily swayed. As a Master of War, Constantine knew that the fiery cross in the sky was simply a display of firepower & ordinance of their time which was fired from trebuchets and bows' firey arrows criss-crossing in the night sky.

He sarcastically stated that if he is rendered victorious that he would attribute his win to the Christ and would convert.

Aohrodite, Roman Venus.

Aohrodite, Roman Venus.

Well, one just doesn't tell a Roman scribe something like that, especially when you don't really mean it. To the scribe, this was "on record" as a vow.

The war was over, and Constantine the Great had won, now seated as the Supreme Emporer of the Roman Empire, he was crowned.

His advisors, off stage left, plotting against him, ensuring either he convert or be destroyed.

Essentially now, Constantine's reign was in peril if he failed to convert. Constantine had seen that his public conversion would put an end to the violence and benefit the Roman Empire seeing as the Christian religion was gaining a foothold in the Roman Empire.

Therefore, he evoked The Edict of Milan.

However, in secret, Constantine presided over Pagan Services at the Second Temple of Aphrodite.

325 CE (AD) - The First Council of Nicea...

325 CE (AD) - The First Council of Nicea...

In 325 of the Common Era, The Council of Nicea was formed...

The Council consisted of 88 Bishops convened to formulate Doctrine of the Christian religion and was a schism to the gnostic faith.

Here, Christian holidays were determined around Pagan holidays so that the shock of the change of culture wouldn't be too much to bear.

Also, books of the Bible were decided. It was decided what was coming out such as The Gospel of Philip and Enoch and what was being added such as the Book of Acts. Any mention of female dominance within the Bible was removed, such as the marriage of Jesus and Mary of Magdelene.

Even the Divinity of Christ was decided at this Council.

Pagans Well Met...

In 326 Constantine saw that after the Council of Nicea that Pagans in Rome weren't going to have a chance of peace. He ordered his beloved Pagan Knights to help Graeco-Roman Pagan peoples on an exodus out of Rome and to Ancient Hibernia (Ireland), Brittania and The Shetland Islands. A journey commenced, and this mass exodus was made by Constantine's Pagan Knights to assist the Graeco-Roman Pagan Peoples out of Rome.  Accompanying were some Moors and the Magi who navigated this mass exodus to Celtic Lands.

Interesting footnote:  It was these very Perisian Magi that brought and taught The Mystical Arts into Pagan Faiths. Prior to this there was no Magick or Alchemy in Paganism to be heard of; before that time, it was just Spirituality The Goddesses and Gods with their Idols.

Isatis tinctoria, also called Woad, dyer's woad, or glastum, is a flowering plant in the family Brassicaceae with a documented history of use as a blue dye and medicinal plant. It is occasionally known as Asp of Jerusalem. Woad is also the name of a blue dye produced from the leaves of the plant.

So finally, these Graeco-Roman Polytheistic Pagans landed on Celtic Shores where they were PEACEFULLY well met by the Celts, The Druids, Picts and Scot Woad Tribe (named after the yellow flower "Isatis Tinctoria" that emitted a blue powder used in tribal Pagan makeup). All these Pagan factions of this particular society that met with the Graeco-Roman Pagans had been living in areas of Ancient Hibernia together peacefully. The same was so in Britainnia, where another Society of mixed Pagan Factions who came together had ironically met with the Graeco-Roman Pagans that landed on Britainnia's shores as if were FATE that these peoples were to also comulgate together.

Upon the Celtic Shore landings of the Graeco-Roman Pagans, a group of Zorastrian outcasts, The Persian Magi led the horde as they set out using the stars as a guide. Lo and behold, and much to their surprise, in their travels, these Magi encountered other Persian Magi brothers who were already in Ireland for years. They too arrived as outcasts having brought and taught the Mystical Arts to the Celtic Pagans and to The Druids.

The Magi that were already in Ancient Hibernia led the weary Graeco-Roman Pagan Travellers to the Druid Leaders in what today is called, Roscommon. The Moors and The Magi who travelled with the Graeco-Roman Pagans assisted the women and children across this new terrain.

The Druids were the Society Leaders of the Celtic Pagan peoples. They were not only the Spiritual Leaders but they were also Worldly Leaders being Astronomers, Mathematicians, Law Makers, Adjudicators, Scientists, and Medicinal Healers. They basically covered all today's "white collar" and high paying professions! Although The Druids rarely kept written records as they were masters of having eidetic memories, they did have a rare form a writing known as Og'ham.

Ogham is an Early Medieval alphabet used primarily to write the early Irish language, and later the Old Irish language. There are roughly 400 surviving orthodox inscriptions on stone monuments throughout Ireland and western Britain, the bulk of which are in southern Munster.

The Ogham stone at Breastagh stands 3.66 metres high, 0.76 metres wide and 0.6metres thick, believed to be a bronze age standing stone with an ogham inscription added at a later date. The inscription reads: L.GG......SD ....LEGESCAD on one side and MAQ CORRBRI MAQ AMLOITT The stone stands in the Barony of Tirawley which gets its name from a fifth century King Amalgaid Or Amlongad, who had a son named Coirpre, the inscription may refer to this family.

Together, the Celtic Peoples, The Druids, and the sparse Persian Magi and Moors made large societies over these Islands.  The Celtic Pagans of Ireland, overseen by the Druids, utilised the contributions of the Graeco-Roman Pagans. The Celts took on the Constantinian way of worship services by building Temples throughout Ancient Hibernia and Britannia.  This particular Order, Our Order, embraced Temple Services.

Example of a Celtic Pagan Temple - In Irish mythology and folklore, the Ringfort is said to have been originally built by the Dagda, the primary god of the ancient Irish and celebrated king of the Tuatha Dé Danann. According to the myths, the Dagda erected the fort around the grave of his son Aedh who had been killed through jealousy by Corrgenn, a chieftain from Connacht. Another legend describes Grianán as the hibernation place of Áine/Gráinne, the Celtic Sun Goddess and some believe the site to have been originally built as a Sun Temple. An ancient sundial was found during the excavations of the 1870’s.

Personally, I don't blame them. Inside services are good for me because the weather in Ireland is wet, cold, and yucky throughout the fall and winter months, ha ha.

Eventually They became The Celtic Pagan and Druidic Order of Constantine .

The Dagda -

The Dagda - "The Good God" was chief of the Tuatha dé Danann, the foremost of the Irish ancestral Gods. Highly skilled and wise beyond measure, he was not only The God of Life and Death, but of seasons, agriculture, fertility, Magick, and Alchemy as well. He wielded three sacred treasures: a cauldron of plenty, a club of life and death, and a harp that controlled men and seasons alike. His children were plentiful, as were his lovers. His dwelling place was Brú na Bóinne (Newgrange).

The Celtic Pagan and Druidic Order of Constantine observe the The Celtic Pagan Pantheon as Divine. These include The 20 Deities of The Tuatha Dé Danann such as the afore mentioned Dagda, Danu, and The Morrigan "Pantom Queen and The Three Sisters, Badb, Macha, and Nemain."

The Morrigan is the term given to Goddess Morrigan, one of the Triple Goddesses in Celtic mythology. She represented the circle of life and was associated with both birth and death. Her name translates to “Great Queen” or “Phantom Queen”. She was a shape-shifter and looked over the rivers, fresh water and lakes. She is also described as being the patroness of revenge, Magick, Priestesses, Night, prophecy and Witches.

Also, in 584CE The Order inexplicably went underground splintering off into groups. Its said The Queen, Morrigan returned home by entering the Cave Uaimh na gCait, spoken like: Oweynagat, translates as: The Cave of the Cats in Rathcroghan, Roscommon. Later that year what remained of the Order became a Seclusionary Monastic Order of Celtic Pagan and Druid Clergy.

What's Past is Now Prologue... So Today...

In November of 2021 the Queen of the Order made a very progressive decision based on interpretations of numerology codex found in the Order's archives.  She decided to mainstream the Order opening The Order up to the public.  We had all grown weary of being underutilised Clergy in our era, wandering the halls saying Bles'd Be to each other. We needed to  better serve humanity.

So Our Elected Queen made proclamation of The Edict of The Tuatha Dé Danann and opened The Order to all of the public and mainstreamed The Order.

Our Order is lobbying and commencing our first three mission statements...

To bridge the gap between Science and the Divine... Hence, working on proving Magick and Alchemy as an accepted science by showing them that the Mystical Arts are a science.  Such as the possibility that dark matter and dark energy are the basis of Magick.

Our second mission is to work towards Pagan Unification working toward an upcoming Ecumenical Gathering:  The Council of Newgrange.... Or The Council of Brú na Bóìnne...

Our third is to create an awareness of Metaphysics and Humanistic Sciences.

Note:

This account does not reflect the history of the entire Celtic Pagan Peoples and only reflects the history of the particular group of people who eventually established The Celtic Pagan and Druidic Order of Constantine.  Not all historians have ever fully and entirely agreed on all aspects of Irish Paganism, Celtic Paganism, and Graeco-Roman Polytheistic Paganism.  This account is from the archives of Our Order, historians, archeologists, theologians, Physicists, Metaphysicians, Priestesses and Priests of Our Order stemming back to its inception.  This is the account of a Celtic Pagan and Druid Religious Order and Naturally there is a moniker of faith attributed to these accounts.
